I tried to use the internet recovery but after the time it takes it went to a black screen with the apple logo and remained like that so I cannot get to disk utility to make a clean install. What could be the problem pls

Probably dead GPUs. The top suspect.
Same as my 27" 2009 iMac.
Replacing the GPU solved my problem.

You can try booting your iMac with a text base Linux USB. If it boot fine until log-in command. Then you can conclude that the graphic burden task to load the desktop of iMac overloads the GPU and makes it fail.

The internet recovery screen showed up an worked with the spinning globe and time. After the time finished the screen with the apple logo came and nothing else happened
