Hi all,

I'm looking to create a database/inventory of products, either online or offline. Simply informational, no links or e-commerce. I do need at least one picture per item and the ability to keyword, and then filter by keywords.

Does anyone know any good online and/or offline solutions for this? Ideally something readily accessible like Numbers/Excel but I don't think these apps have the keywording feature I'm really looking for.

Many thanks!

I have been using Home Inventory https://apps.apple.com/us/app/home-inventory/id413564952?mt=12 for years and has many ways to search for things, you can add Tags (Keywords) to look for things. Type in the search bar and you will find more than just Tags. You can add several pictures. Pretty easy to set up the way you want it and add about any type of field you want. It will sync with iPhone and iPad. Doesn't have to be used for Home type inventory, you can use it for all kinds of collections.

I use Google Sheets. For keywords, I use single words (or compound words without a space) separated by a space in a "keywords" column, then filter on whatever keyword I'm interested in. I just started using them (keywords) so I'll be building out my sheets to have a more point-n-clicky way to interact with keywords.

I don't need them to be hashtags, but I may switch to that if it helps with the functionality.

Thanks very much for the replies

Thanks, I'm actually looking for something a bit more visual. To the point where I actually considered using Photo apps like Photos or Lightroom. I'll have another look at your suggestion though!

This looks good, can you customise all the info fields to whatever you want? I don't need a "Warranty" section in each field for example, is that removable? What does the Album function do? Is it a gallery style view of products? Thanks for the suggestion!

I'd love a simple, accessible Google Sheets type solution that can be viewed and edited online etc, but was looking for it to be more photo based sadly. Thanks though!

Google Sheets supports embedding images in a cell. My DVD catalog Google Sheet contains a column with cover art.

My "Home Inventory" Google Sheet (for insurance purposes) will have 3 photos for each item... a photo of the item itself, a closeup of a serial #/Model # (where appropriate), and scan of the sales receipt.

I would rather have specialized apps for these purposes but I haven't found one that meets the needs that I have. But this is very workable for me... even though it takes a bit of effort and creativity to add functionality over time.

Interesting thanks, I'll give it a try. Are you able to have multiple keywords and filter by more than one?

Yes you can have custom fields and build it to include about any thing and the order they are shown. I have used several and I don't know if there is a limit on Fields or Pictures, but I know I have at least 3 picture for some items. The types of fields are Address, Currency, Integer, Multi-line test, Positive Integer,
Real Number, Text and Website (URL). Yes Album is a view of all the pictures.

This might be my next project: all platform, local and cloud based photo heavy inventory system using a single code base.
