invisible shield fence sitters..

I just thought of something and went ahead and purchased the film set that they have at the apple store...

First of all, my biggest concern for scratching is the chrome edges (which the invisible shield does not cover) and the glass (only from sand).

That being said, the invisible shield is a much bigger hassle to apply than the films from the apple store, AND here's the biggie...

I have the feeling that when and if you have to send your iPhone in for a battery replacement, they will need to separate the black antennae cover and the top aluminum piece which will mean that you will have to reinstall an invisible shield all over again on the back.

Probably not an inconvenience for some, but after the fun I had with the shield I put on my iPod, I'd rather not do it anymore than I have too...

sorry, should have been clearer there. This film doesn't cover it either, which is my point. If the invisible shield did that I might be more inclined to spend the money and go through the hassle. But it doesn't, so why not go with the easier, cheaper, just as good in every other aspect solution?

I have the invisible shield on alot of my devices and it is really good protection. The problem is that with devices like phones that get put in you pocket alot, the edges end up picking up alot of lint and dirt. It gets kinda gross after awhile. This happened with by Treo and Sanyo Katana full body shields. Works great with the shuffle, psp, gps, etc....

I think the screen is most important, and really should be the only thing protected (iQase Film). Cosmetic damage WILL happen eventually during the duration of the phone.
