Invisible Shield on macbook air 13?

Hello everyone I wondering about the invisible shield on the macbook air .. really works(since all the hard covers are pretty ugly:mad:) .. I mean the heat issue might be a problem , I kind of afraid that when the MBA is hot the invisible shield goes out lol or even worse melt (I know is kind of silly but still my concern..) Does anyone has invisible in your MBA?

I have one. Been on the second week I purchased my 2011 AIR.

No problems with the Air itself, but the shield got stained with my cheapo red sleeve.

I emailed BestSkinsEver and they sent me a new one no charge.
 
I don't own an MBA, but I can tell you that generally, they run very cool indeed. So heat isn't an issue, and if a laptop gets hot enough to melt something, it is downright dangerous! The adhesive is also very strong.

In short, there won't be any problems.

You made laugh so hard , but the plastic is not gonna chance the form or be piece of sticky plastic rite? and thanks guys for the fast reply
 
Personally, I don't really like the shiny look on an aluminum MBA, so I went with a matte skin from PhantomSkinz. It's the same wet installation, so if you've ever installed a Zagg or BSE, you'll have no problems.

the heat shouldn't be a issue. I've had my MBA run over 85C and it doesn't affect the skin whatsoever.
 
actually I was thinking on getting the installation from then (15 bucks)
 
I put the invisashield on my i7. Works great. Easier to hold and harder to mess up the nice finish. Putting it on is a little trickier than saw an iPhone because it is much larger. I haven't noticed any heat issues at all.

I'd imagine the matte finish would be a bit nicer looking as than the invisa which is shiny.

Clear shield on for about a week now. No heat issues, and it gives me confidence that my Air is protected from wannabe Mac owners in recording studios :D
 
I'm using a clear speck case and wonder if i should switch to a skin? I like this cause i can just kinda throw it in my backpack where as the skin may dent if i toss it around at times

Rough and tumble it gets....The Speck has those little feet on the top piece to prevent dents. I don't think it would unless you carry concrete blocks around:D
 
I got Zagg too, coz I wanted some protection.

But I bought two sets for 50$, and I sold one here in Poland for about 45$ :)

Nope, it is very tough stuff! You really have nothing to worry about, as owners have posted here :)
 
I have the invisible shield from Zagg and love it. No issues with heat at all. It does add a little shine to the MBA as mentioned, but I think it looks great. Not overly so and after a day or so, you dont even notice that anymore.

What you will notice is that your MBA has a nice protection on it and is no not too slippery anymore where it slides off everything.
 
I have had the Zagg "Invisible Shield" on 4 Airs so far with absolutely no problems. It really makes it easier to hang on to, as the bare aluminum can be pretty slippery in your hand. They were pretty easy to install, and offer great protection against scratches and gouges that many MacBooks seem to attract.

There is no screen protection, but you really don't need that anyway. There is a keyboard/palm rest sheet which covers around the trackpad and up the sides of the keyboard. It is somewhat tricky to install, especially on the 11" air, but once it is on properly it works well to keep your watch, etc. from scratching the area around the trackpad.

I have the invisible shield for over a month now, so far now heat issues or the shield melting or something. What I dont like is some dust gets stuck on the shield, but this can easily be wiped out with a cloth or cloth with some water.

It covers the trackpad area too, some people remove it, some people don't but its totally up to you.

As for the screen , i highly recommend you cleaning your screen if you see some dust in it, use a microfiber cloth , i got a permanent small dot on my screen, thought it was dust and cleaned it up, but its like it scratched the screen, just 1 tiny dot.

I would find the surface of the shield too "sticky" to have over the trackpad. But the trackpad is glass and pretty scratch resistant as it is.;)

I also have the Zagg shield on my 13"
But i removed the shield on the trackpad, since it was too sticky.
Happy with mine, have Zagg on my iPhone and iPad

I was never able to get the trackpad area portion of the shield to properly go into place. I ended up messing this piece up. Zagg sent me a replacement kit but I have never installed it.

I dont think you will like the Zagg texture over the trackpad so in the end, better to leave this area unprotected. Top and bottom work great. Have had on for 6 months. No issues.
 
Wrapsol and as alternative...

I know you asked about the Zagg product, but consider Wrapsol, as well. I've used the Invisishield on my iPhone 4. I found the quality to be a little iffy (orange peel), but the protection from scratches and customer service was first rate. I used the Wrapsol skin on my MBA and couldn't be happier. Easy to put on if you are careful, very uniform appearance/texture (unlike the Zagg InvisiShield), and a nice matte finish (which, at least for the MBA, I strongly prefer). Others have reported some problems with the how precisely the skins are cut, and they are stretchy. You need to be careful when installing and use a lot of solution to get everything in place just right. But that's the same with the Zagg at that size.

I think it really helps to just let the wet-application skins dry for at least 48 hours before handling, if at all possible. I let mine dry for about 5 days (I had another computer to use), and zero bubbles or problems. I think a lot of problems with any wet-application skin is lack of care when installing and using the device before the solution has had a chance to fully dry, so the edges peel. But eventually, handled enough, any skin will eventually peel.
 
I also forgot, if theres a kiosk there in your area, or some zagg store that can install it for you, the better, so you won't have much problems when you don't install it properly / some areas are not cut right. Up to know wrapsol hasn't emailed me yet , sent them like 3 to 5 emails.
 
WARNING: Remove any ZAGG InvisibleSHIELD from your MacBook Air

I have recently fitted the Zagg InvisibleSHIELD to my 2011 11-inch MacBook Air (i7 1.8 GHz) and started noticing my base was pretty warm. I had a look online about any heat issues with the InvisibleSHIELD and found this thread but struggled to get any definitive feedback from anyone else noticing a heat issue.

I eventually managed to find another who noticed the heat and monitored the before and after installation temperatures with worrying results, and I quote:

"My CPU temps were seriously high, something around 85 °C, while only idling"

"I immediately pulled the ZAGG [OFF] the bottom of my MacBook and MacBook now idles at a whopping 10-15 °C below"

This has got to be more critical with the heat damaging the 11-inch MacBook Air but the 13-inch can't really escape. Other aluminum MacBooks should consider the finding on this blog and perhaps do some digging around for advice. It hardly needs saying I have removed all of the InvisibleSHIELD from my new shiny peice of aluminum.
