I don’t have a keyboard but somehow I’ve been able to bring the search bar while I’m inside an app. As far as I know you can only bring the search bar by swiping down while on the Home Screen or within an app if you have a keyboard and press a shortcut. I’ve only done this by accident a couple of times and it’s usually when I’m dragging/swipping on the upper left corner, near the status bar. Wondering if anyone knows if that’s possible or if maybe I’ve encountered a useful bug. I would really like to bring search from anywhere not just from the Home Screen.

You can swipe down from the middle of your screen to activate it.

Yup, I’ve just done this by accident too. I was in the BBC News app and suddenly I saw the usual suggested app icons in the floating search box. I don’t think the keyboard came up, but maybe it would if I had tapped in the text box. I’ve been trying to replicate what I did as it would be super useful for launching apps. New iPadAir with 14.4.1
