I just can't imagine Luca would just keep this JB as a rough buggy beta and not update it anymore. That would make zero sense to me. Why would a developer release a buggy JB and then never work on it again and not fix and update it over the coming weeks ?

I don't know anything about Luca outside of he's a good hacker with a solid iOS history. But if the Android scene has taught me anything. It's that entitled whiny kids who feel they're entitled to hacks can make developers walk away from a project. Do I think that will happen here? No, but I have been there and watched as a developer said F IT and just quit. I can imagine how tough it has to be to work on something this complex only to have people complaining "well I want unteathered, this isn't acceptable!" and crying every 2 hours about how there isn't a non beta version yet.

so frustrated.

iPone 7 / 7 Plus users can't really jailbreak atm on 10.1.1 cause so more buggy .

Old iPhone model users can jailbreak on 10.2 with more stable jailbreak.

So frustrated

only temporary, my friend

It's a holiday, don't get mad get glad

It is odd my older gear is on an iOS version one month newer, but it is what it is, and as a 10.1.1 7+ user with 10.2 Pro and SE now, couldn't care less! My other devices can 'keep' their emojis and floating heart iMessage animation for all I care,

Also don't come across entitled, its not like this jailbreak is an Apple product release, its all Luca and company

I'm pairing my watch with SE and unpairing from 7+ because I haven't used SE/watch combo since summer,

Fast from iPhones end, but jeez does the unpairing process from Apple Watch take FOREVER

edit-

here's the iOS 10 JB 'fam' (scratched out serials in pic, but probably doesn't even matter)

Anyone interested in this JB and is at 10.1.1 should stay there and just sit back for a little while as bugs being worked out and better and more reliable versions will be released.
Not much you can do with it still even if you did JB right now so let Cydia, mobile substrate and things to get updated and ironed out.
Just in case you mess up and stuck having to go up to 10.2

edit- re-read this quick not sure if its English? who cares, tired, and did the jaiblreak in proper fashion of getting really really baked, feels like I'm an actual hacker for a min haha

Yeah I did an ssh from within terminal,

I dunno but it worked lol

also, this makes 9.3.3 tether a complete breeze by comparison, this is not a polished injector jb. you think it getting knocked out of its tether mode, once every month or few weeks is bad, its nothing to getting this thing going and started up, sometimes tether succeeds but substrate initiator causes reboot. its like you gotta understand the cpu timing of things to make it work buttery.

its like a jailbreak generator (pull the engine with a string, generator)

if the injector mach portal doesn't inject JB, it reboots essentially. when it succeeds is when it looks like a normal app crash,

when substrate mode works, it goes from respring animation to back to locksreen,

when this thing works tho, its surreal! so excited for some polish, and some workaround for 7 day side loading like an App Store slip or a jb me site like Luca's jbme-like injector site, perfect for longevity peace of mind on 9.3.3 pro and SE.

Luca is a 2016 hero!!!!1

also because people are very much pics or it didn't happen-

So I guess now what ? Does this mean Luca put the gamma and stable release on the back burner for who knows how long, or possibly never updating his 10.1.1. release beyond what it is now ?

What about the rumors of Pangu last week, that a 10.2 JB was incoming soon after Apple releases the next official 10.2.1 final release ?

First part, correct, it has no priority.

Second part, self invented rumor for Pangu as Pangu rarely gives out information and nothing was said by them.
Especially Reddit is rampant with wild speculation.

Patience.... and never rush with jailbreaks, for instance I held off because all too uncertain and looked like semi-tether again, also longtime posters like AJ were hesitant, if the regulars here are confident and are updating then it is time.

Those Twitter comments, poor guy Luca just getting roasted by some and thanked and grateful by others. Can't win.

He's damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't.

I guess maybe he shouldn't have released the beta period in my opinion. Either release a more stable JB from the start even if that meant a February release, or not release anything at all to avoid this confusion and mess.

With his alpha JB as it is, can you install tweaks like icon packs ? Pixel Launcher from the 9.3.3 JB ? Google search widget ?

This lengthy read from saurik is worthwhile-

https://www.reddit.com/r/jailbreak/...japija00_is_pretty_awesome/dc0gv93/?context=3

Apparently he postponed and almost missed picking up his CES badge to clear the air on it

Good guy saurik

^ haven't and won't try that sorry. I have stability relatively on my 7Plus and don't wanna mess it up

After activator I'm all set.

That reddit thread makes it sounds like JB'ing may be dead now, and don't get our hopes up of any new Jailbreak coming anytime soon. And if it does, it will come as a total surprise out of the blue, and that's if we're lucky.

Too bad this JB'ing stuff isn't like Rooting and ROM'ing on Android, with a great development community like XDA. And I just bought my new Silver iPhone 7 Plus for Christmas, purposely getting one on 10.1.1. Looks like I may go back to Android then, once Pixel XL 128GB's come back in stock in two months.

Oh well, I was pumped to run a JB 7 Plus, looks like that's not happening :(

I still think their will be a stable jailbreak just nobody other than the team developing and possibly saurik knows. I'm still jailbroken on 9.0 I just don't pay attention to the jailbreak scene until a jailbreak is released. Nothing really happens in between jailbreak releases.

That's where I'm at right now too. I only want free PandoraOne and Spotify...that's it. Only if I can get those without a jailbreak

Spotify is only $9.99 a month or 4.99$ if you're a student. Is saving those couple of dollars a month really worth it to you?

Download Impactor. Download yalu beta 3. Connect your device to your computer. Drag yalu beta 3 to Impactor. Sign with Apple ID using App Specific password if you have that enabled. Reboot phone. Cydia and mach_portal should be on home screen. Go into Settings, General, Profiles & Device Management, Verify mach_portal app. Launch mach_portal app. After app launches and closes itself on its own without rebooting the phone (It may fail and reboot the phone, it doesn't always work on the first try. You just have to be persistent until it succeeds.) Launch Cydia, add repo: http://83.218.67.215/~ijapija00/cydia/ and download Substrate Fix (iOS 10) and use that to Respring the device whenever necessary. Never click on Respring from within Cydia. Click on the Substrate Fix app on the home screen and your phone will reboot into a jailbroken state. A cog wheel will show the whole reboot time if it succeeded. If not, the phone failed and is rebooting. You simply have to run the mach_portal app again until it succeeds and run Substate Fix again. I found that it succeeds better when fully turning off the device after a fail and turning it back on before trying again. It may not really help, but it's what I do.

You've been tasked with jailbreaking a device and yet you didn't bother reading the release notes that Cydia isn't compatible with the jailbreak yet? Wow, glad you're not working for my company. LOL

(wonders how many lies this guy's resume has on it to have been hired for that job, lol)

Actually substrate is disabled. But ssh would be installed, which is what I was using to test the installation. Perhaps when you get out of your mothers basement and get a job you'll realise that sometimes people dumb things down for other to easily understand.

One can tell a lot from the things someone posts and how they post them. It's clear you're not a developer. VERY clear.

Your perception is astounding. Wow. Actually just saw your profile. IT admin - makes sense now.

@chriscowlee: went back to your first reply to this thread and for someone who is disappointed with how this thread started...why are you still here?

If you used to JB your phones and don't anymore, what is your point being here and then picking disputes with people? Move on already...
[doublepost=1482523871][/doublepost]
So is anyone here actually running this new beta JB on their iPhone 7 ?

Or is this way too risky and shady to actually install ?

Everything to lose and nothing to gain by jumping to JB now at this early point...

fwiw I'm now 'stuck' on 9.3.3 on iPad Pro and SE, but I guess hardly a single person will bust out even the tiniest of violins for me

I feel your pain, sucks that this jailbreak came out after Apple stopped signing for 10.1.1, and then they cut off our one way to downgrade less than 24 hours after the tool comes out. I don't know why they are so hell bent on stopping us from doing what we want with OUR Phones.

Even though it doesn't do a proper respring process like other JB's, and is a flaw in Yuca JB for now,

G Moran's (eclipse dev)'s CydiaRespringFix is great, to click it instead of running killall -9 SpringBoard

sometimes I still click restart springboard out of habit and get stuck on a black screen, this avoids that!

gmoran.me/repo is the repository, for those who already on the unstable JB

its been a pretty lovely experience on my 7+, just to give an update, so far,

main gripes after a few days:
-injecting takes a few tries (triggers reboots when fails) on a cold boot usually,
-7 day cert side load for now, if you don't reboot you can go as long as you want i think unless you get kicked off the tether (like how 9.3.3 kicks you off tether sometimes, over weeks),
i don't see a stable version addressing this tho, we need an app store app injector, or a jbme, or a 1 year dev account,
-no proper respring, without 'workaround' Terminal command or Moran tweak, you get stuck on a black screen
-included cydia, have to swipe touch left part of account management and stuff to make it work (and track changes, etc), tweak list and repos is just an easy click -- supposed to be fixed with new 64-bit cydia beta
-cell service and iMESsage went kaput, had to run 4 commands and not a problem since (the tweak to fix it did nothing for me, probably because it hung on black screen and didn't complete properly)
-There is a separate process to enable substrate, SubstrateFix, and it doesn't boot with substrate upon tethering the JB with mach_portal (its like a two step tethered jailbreak effectively, since without substrate, you are a lot more limited with what you can do)

it sounds like an awful lot of cons, but I am ok with them/ have come to terms,

I also still await a final-ish, stable build, but more eagerly await what we're going to do about the signing side loading issue of 7-day expiration for non-dev accounts,

this one didn't come with a baked enterprise cert like Pangu (may have been an ent profile exploit specific to ioS9, don't really know/remember)

NO RAGRETS

That sucks to hear. I'm new to the JB scene being a former Nexus nerd for years. But this alpha JB released last week does seem strange. Only one dude working on in it and he leaves his laptop behind while off on a long business trip as if he doesn't really care that much about it. Like he'll maybe work on it a little bit when he comes back.

While millions of iPhone Jailbreak'ers are foaming at the mouth for it.

I would think a JB for iOS 10 would be #1 priority and extremely important for developers ? Why is only one guy working on it ?

In Android when the new Pixel phones released tons of developers were working on cracking it to open it up for root and custom recovery to allow Roms. Not just one guy. Same with Sansung phones, which now are super difficult to crack and root but still there's lots of different people trying and working on it, not only one person.

What's up with that ?

Maybe Pangu truly does have a 10.2 stable JB released ready to release soon after Apple officially releases 10.2.1 ?

The thing is is that people don't know who is working on what. Pangu and TaiG don't talk about what they are working on, they just release it.

There could be a hole team working on it, we just don't know.
