Since updating to iOS 10.2 beta, the Videos app is gone, and in its place the app called "TV" ... and when I try to open the app when connected to the internet via wifi or cellular, it works fine. When I'm not connected to the internet (aka 99% of the time if I'm on an Airplane) and try to watch one of my iTunes sync'd videos\movies, the app opens and is just white screen without taking me to the videos stored on the iPad.

Hopefully this isn't one of Apple's new "courageous" changes and is just a serious bug. It's driving me nuts. I'd hoped beta 3 solved it, but still hasn't. I know there are solutions like Good Player and other video players, but if I'm going to use those I might as well just leave the Apple ecosystem completely and get an Android tablet for 1/3 the cost.

Anyone found a way around this? I hate that I can't view my movies.

Isn't it 'simply gorgeous' how many stock apps have bugs? The next time you want to watch one of your videos, think about the fact that Tim Cook wants Apple to be more involved in social issues. You're only a customer

Hehe. Yeah it's pretty sad. The iPhone and iPad which primary purpose is media has a broken media player now.

What next, a phone app that doesn't make calls unless connected to the internet?

Maybe they figure I don't need to be able to watch videos since I can't plug headphones in and their courageous Airpods seem to suffered premature demise.

You already bought those products though.. Tim Cook and Apple are only interested in the next product you buy. It's not important whether the software works or not, it's important whether your credit card was accepted or not.
I would expect the software issues to be resolved when Tim Cooks circuitous mind breaks the money loop.. so never

The sad part is your hyperbole is a little too close to reality for comfort. :-(

tim is squeezing me up against the limits of hyperbole with his antics. Soon there'll be no requisite gap that enables the satire.. it'll just be what's happening

So an update for today... since 10.2 beta 4 came out today, the app now loads while not connected to wifi or cellular, however the app is utterly useless. Now it opens to a page called "downloaded" ... And the only time the movies\home videos (you know, the ECOSYSTEM stuff that's been sync'd from iTunes) show is when an internet connection is connected.

So I ask again, APPLE, HOW OH HOW am I able to watch the videos\movies that have been synced from iTunes?!?!?!

This seriously is insane... Beta 4 now and the issue still exists where one cannot watch the videos they downloaded from iTunes to the iPad. INSANE.

You can. In the videos app. It's a beta. I'm thinking you might be happier to wait for public releases. Betas aren't for everyone.

I was going to say it's a beta.. hopefully the public release works as it should. We dont need another buggy app

Agreed. By beta 4 now it should be fairly stable at least. It's not like 10.2 is jam packed with new features. TV App is really one of the main gigs of the new .x release.. so to have it still so buggy on the 4th beta... makes me go hrmm.. I guess we'll expect 10.2.x over and over like we did with 10.1

For video use VLC!

Most of my videos I use VLC or Good Player but the whole point of the Apple ecosystem is stuff in iTunes on my computer syncs to my iOS devices and can be watched on Apple TV as well. Without the ecosystem Apple would be nothing to me.
