iOS 10.3 doubled "Other"

I have an iPhone 6S, updated to 10.3 and noticed on the iTunes summary "other" storage had more than doubled from just under 2GB to 4.86GB. And "documents and data" now shows 1.96 GB. I cannot find any guidance on how to delete other data. IMO there is no way the update was this big. What happened?
I just updated to 10.3.1 with no relief.
Can this be fixed? Any ideas are appreciated.

Mine is quite large too and I keep getting storage warnings. You can shrink it a bit by syncing with iTunes and add a few apps but it might not be necessary. iOS seems to clear it out when it is actually needed

It didn't actual double. All it did was reportion how iTunes shows other. Before, all files downloaded within apps went to the apps or documents and data section, now iTunes reports it as other.

For example: Real Racing 3 download 2GB of files. This use to be reported in the apps section. Now it's reported as other. Yes it appears to have doubled but you didn't lose any space. If anything you actually gained space back.

Thank you Mlrollini91, you make a good point, it could be. But it is confusing when I did a restore with nothing more than the iOS and "other" data stayed the same (4.8 GB). I added a few apps and it really did not change. Guess I am just going to have to work with it. On a 32 GB iPhone it kind of hurts to take up that much space.

So, I went to the Apple store today about to ask this question. The answer was "that's the size of the iOS."

4+ GB? I asked .... "yes." OK I am done here, thank you. I find that hard to accept but ...... .

As I mentioned. The other didn't actual "double" it moved from other categories to make the 'other' seem larger. But in fact the size remained the same, if it didn't go down a little. A 32GB device should have gotten back roughly 300MB when updating to 10.3.

The OS is roughly 2.5-3GB. Then there is about 1-2GB lost in formatting. A 32GB is only about 28GB formatted.
