Is it just me or have Apple made everything harder to use, everything requires more steps and is way too focused on 3D-touch

1. Using the control centre requires two swipes to access your music. The only benefit is that it now shows the album cover
2. The notification centre forces you to view it to interact with it, can't swipe to delete or swipe to reply - takes a lot longer now. I wish there was more customisation here (for example, let you swip left on notifications to delete or directly reply etc).
3. Really hard to swipe away notifications, before you could swipe anywhere but now you have to swipe in a specific area, kind of annoying.

If you don't have a 3D-touch enabled device then this update makes interacting with your apps way slower. I don't even like 3D-touch, I'm kind of disappointed with this update. It just doesn't seem simplistic and follow what Apple have always done.

Please don't tell me to downgrade, this is just my view on it.

Using the music in control center doesnt bug me too much because i control music on my watch. Obviously if you don't have one, then I can see why this would be kind of annoying. But at the same time, once you switch to music, it stays there even after it closes.

I wish there was more customisation here (for example, let you swip left on notifications to delete or directly reply etc). You mean on the notification itself when it arrives, because in notification center, you can swipe on individual notifications and dismiss them.
3. Really hard to swipe away notifications, before you could swipe anywhere but now you have to swipe in a specific area, kind of annoying. Agree. I REALLY miss the iOS 5 notifications.

What I was saying is they could give you an option to for example, swipe left to delte an email or swipe left to archive an email instead of only giving you the option to view or dismiss a notification

Also, sometimes when I click on a notification in my notification centre it does nothing (when it should open the app) really annoying me.

I absolutely despise the notification center in iOS 10. I have a iPhone 6s Plus and an iPad Air 2 and the way I interact with Notification Center differs depending on what device I'm using.

On iPad I can just tap a notification to open it. On iPhone I have to 3D touch and then tap it. On iPad I have to swipe to interact, on phone use 3D touch.

What really annoys me though is that there's no way to sort notifications. Under iOS 9, I sorted them by application so I could easily clear out notifications from specific applications. That's not possible under iOS 10. You can either clear all notifications or you need to do them one at a time.

Also since all notifications are mixed together and look pretty much the same, it's easy to miss important ones (like emails and messages). Also I'm pretty sure some notifications aren't showing up.

I loved iOS 9 notification centre.

ALso not a fan of the white background, but that's not really important.

Only thing I like about iOS 10 so far is that it's faster

I'm pretty sure that's somewhat artificial. Apple removed a lot of the UI delay so iOS 10 feels faster even if it technically isn't.

But if the UI delay was there befor and isn't there now then it is faster simply by it having that delay.

Yes. This is exactly how I feel. I used to quickly delete or archive emails right from their notifications, along with numerous other quick actions apps made available.

Swipe..boom, Swipe..boom. Loved it.

Now it takes a 3D Touch press, then another tap, hopefully before iOS loads the rich content and pushes the button you were aiming at down the screen, and causes you to accidentally tap the notification to open it because that's what's over the space where the button you wanted was.

The richer notifications are very nice, but this change negates all the productivity benefits they offer. There's no reason we can't have both.

Beyond stupid UI makes for a terrible UX.

Why? The swipe is still there, now it just shows "Clear", instead of the actions plus the an "x" to clear. Add the quick actions back. Problem solved.

Ok, rant over. Thanks for reading. :)

I agree with this so much, just a small change but would make the notification centre so much better
