I had to be that guy and post this first....what features are we hoping for?
What do u mean? Most of the new features for iOS 10 have already been added. You are too late posting buddy. Apart from some secret feature that the GM might have for the iPhone 7, the best you can hope for are graphical changes, like we seen from beta 1 to beta 2.

Well, for those of us without 3D Touch devices, we'd like to see the long press workaround implemented. Also, it appears that not everyone is getting voicemail transcription (so far, have not identified anyone on an iPhone 6 who's gotten a transcribed voicemail yet...).

Not really expecting any "new" features, though (except, maybe, after the new iPhone is released; occasionally there are features that are held back because they would identify a hardware feature that's not been released yet).

I'll add the concept of overall reliability and smoothness. Only posting, though, to advance from "macrumors newbie". :)

Seriously, I'll take what we get. Looks good so far.

I'd like to see the Music app go back to the way it was in iOS 9.3.2. The new UI is horrid - it looks like a reject from the 1990's. There's way too much white and, seriously, what's with the bolded fonts? Just when we were getting used to the thin fonts, they go and bold them up, something Microsoft would do. Additionally, I would like to be able to ONLY see what's on my iPhone, as my car's system (2015 ML350) see all of the artists/composers/titles, etc.. The Music app is the biggest disappointment, because it worked fine and was much more aesthetically pleasing in iOS 9.3.2.

I'm new to this iOS Public Beta scheme. If you've got experience, how long do you expect between updates? Every couple of weeks?

I found the public beta 1 caused my phone (6s plus) to get incredibly hot.
And have now had to remove it.

So in regards to public beta 2, the main thing would be better power efficiency and less over heating.

Yes. Decent chance it comes this coming week and very likely by next. If it follows the past pattern, the next version of the developer beta will appear on a Monday or Tuesday, followed by the public beta update 48 hours later.

How long did you give it? It's not uncommon for battery life to be poor and the device to be hot during the first day or so of a new iOS install. The device is doing a lot of indexing and processing in the background at that time.

Music via pb1 and iphon6 is very laggy.

Disappointed think I'll return to 9.3xx

With my recent iPad Air investment I hope to get18 mths more use from iPhone 6 before considering 7.

I think iOS 10is a step too far for 6. T.b.h

Not my experience at all on the 6. Scarcely notice its a beta, to be honest. Everyone's experience is different on the betas though. I'd give it another try when the next beta release occurs.

Thanks

No doubt I'll try later betas.

I've almost lost music choice when I don't have much time before driving to work

I've just tried music via iPad Air 9.3.2 and all music choice inc Beats 1 load instantly where it's been plain white screen via iphone6 iOS 10 pb1

That sounds like a settings issue. Try resetting settings. Settings-General-scroll to bottom, click reset-reset settings. I had to do that for my 6s Plus. For my iPad Air 2, I had to erase and start over. I wish you luck in figuring it out.

Yes, it does get hot after reboot, but it will cool down eventually in a few minutes.

its probably the photo memories thing, & sometimes it gets stuck trying to create it, just open photos, wait at least 1 minute & if the bar doesnt move then force quit, reopen, itll finish in seconds after that. then it cools & stays cool, mine did all 5 times i tried ios 10 before moving to it permanently. a friends iphone 5s had the same behavior & resolution of it.

Thanks no reset yet. I tried a music app reset seems to be working via iPhone at least haven't tried in car yet maybe it's cause I'm using mob data not wifi.

I am hoping for everything to sync up better and consistently do what they are supposed to do. Examples are things like dismissing a daily alarm on my watch doesn't stop it on my phone, the watch sometimes wakes my computer and sometimes doesn't (seems completely random), turning off Apple Watch and turning back on seems to reset to default settings face watches and this takes some time for the watch and phone to communicate and correct itself.

That is what I am hoping for but I am on developer beta so hopefully we will see beta 3 well before PB2.
