My iPhone 6 Plus's screen randomly stops responding to touch events unless I sleep/wake it or double press the home button.

Now I had my phone replaced for a different reason but this was also happening with my last phone.

Is this iOS 10 or am I just unlucky to have had two phones with a defect?

iOS issue. According to bug reports that I have submitted to Apple it has something to do with rotation lock.

Should it not happen if the rotation lock is off? I'll try it
Theoretically it shouldn't. I have had it happen once and I never turn it on. My GF keeps rotation lock on 24/7 and it happens a dozen times a day. Both on her 6s and 7. Both set up as new.

Ugh but they are aware of it?

I am having the same issue with my 6 plus ever since iOS10 update. the touch screen does not work sometimes or it acts like I'm clicking way above where my finger actually touched. Its a pain in the butt

I think your right. it probably is this touch disease. mmmmm what to do? kinda sucks bc yeah its out of apple care and warranty.

Bring it into an apple store for them to look at. Dumbly suggest "maybe it's that touch disease thing I read about"? I am sure they will replace, they have ongoing lawsuits already, it makes more sense for them just to replace, warranty or not.

Doesn't the touch disease display a gray area along the top?

I went to the Apple Store in Norfolk va spoke to the store manager after the Employee told me no. Sorry won't do anything for you about it. The manager said the same. He would not acknowledge the issue. Which I called his ******** on. He refused to replace or offer to do anything but sell me another phone for 325. His name easy Bryan So I'm now going to email corporate. This is complete ********.

Mine has this, or a similar issue. I've had the screen replaced 4 times (only paid for one), but it keeps coming back. The only difference is that there's no gray bar across the top of the phone. The screen just doesn't work. Thoughts?

Read there is a $150 fix now for the Touch Disease issue. Check with your local Apple store to see if your phone can be fixed.

I saw that, but my local repair shop said it wasn't that because there was no gray bar across the top.
