iOS 11 and 10.6 Am I Just Totally Screwed?

As some of you know, I downgraded to OSX 10.6.8 recently
The time has come for an iPhone SE backup
Is iTunes compatible with iOS 11? (This is NOT iOS 11.2)

If not, is there an alternative to the iTunes platform for this kind of thing?

Sure, iTunes has worked with 11 (and older versions) since it came out. It still works with older versions today. (Just realize if you update to the latest iTunes you won't have app store options available.)

Not that old tho. 10.6.8 is really, really old. No way a 5 year old version of iTunes will work with iOS 11.

You’re totally screwed. There isn’t an alternative for iOS backups aside from iCloud backups, and the latest version of iTunes won’t run on 10.6.8. New versions of iTunes are limited to 10.10.6 or later. You need to drop your plans of running Mac OS X 10.6.8 and go back to a more modern version.

As others stated, you need to be more current to use iTunes/iOS 11.

I hate to state the obvious but its Apple's way or the highway, and if you're living within their ecosystem there needs to be an expectation that you (we) update to the most recent fairly regularly.

Apple even publishes what you need for the iPhone SE. It's 10.9.5 or later.

But now I'm not really running anything. I'm dealing with a dead HDD now
But I was running Sierra
