Hey all,

just wanted to let you know: I am convinced that a couple of months ago (one of) the last iOS 10 Update(s) broke the TouchID functionality of my wife's iPhone SE. After contacting Apple Support, Apple conducted remote hardware testing of the device and concluded a hardware defect. Sending it in and having the whole assembly replaced was their only solution, which we ultimately didn't choose because the SE was already out of warranty.

Last night I upgraded the SE to iOS 11, and out of a hunch I tried setting up TouchID again, a step that immediately caused an error before. What can I say – TouchID is working again like a charm, as if nothing ever happened.

So if anyone of you does have trouble with TouchID, too, activating it again in iOS 11 might be worth a shot!

All the best from Germany,
CP
