iOS 11 Fresh Install with iMessages?

I just received my iPhone X and I’m super excited to set it up and would love to just start fresh with iOS 11 to keep everything snappy but I am not sure if my iMessages will sync up once I sign into iCloud. Can someone clarify this for me?

I remember on an earlier version of iOS that it did not but am not sure about this one. Thank you for your help in advance.

iMessage in iCloud was removed and will be added in the future.

Only way you’ll get your messages back is if you restore from a recent backup..
