iPod touch iOS 11 + Messing Up Passcode = Disabled

You already know it's a 6th gen. Anyway, I have locked my iPod for one minute in the past. I then bumped up the time to 5, then to 15 and recently to 60 minutes. If I want to unlock my ipod I mustn't mess up my final attempt because I'd have to put it into dfu mode and set it up all over again. That would suck.
