Hi Guys am I correct in saying IOS 11 is going out today? Or have I missed something?

I'm pretty sure that the GM will be released shortly after the keynote, probably to devs and public testers. Official release to the rest of the world would then be shortly before the new devices land, which will likely be next week.

next tuesday?
Most likely next Wednesday. Usually launches to the public two days before the next iPhone release. Beta testers and Developers will have it tomorrow after the keynote. You can sign up for free to be a public beta tester and get the GM tomorrow if you want it earlier than the general public. Last year Apple released the GM for iOS 10 to the public beta testers, I don't think it will be any different this year.

Wow so the GM was signed and leaked a solid 12 days before available to public, assuming its next Wednesday?

Think apple will move it up cause of leaks?

I guess not since tomorrow we'll know all the 8/X/apple watch/ATV details
Officially.

I'm curious (though doubtful) whether they'll release the GM tomorrow to everyone. Over the weekend, Apple Support twitter was tweeting about how to make sure your device is ready for iOS 11, and pinned that tweet to the top of their timeline

I change my mind

I think tomorrow, post event, it will be Signed for devs and people who want to jump the gun and have the IPSW’s,

And next Wednesday will be the targeted date for an OTA update to show up for the average Apple person,

...Isn’t that how it’s historically gone down with Major IOS releases?

My memory is terrible right now

I think this is right!

Gold master for iOS 10.0.1 was released on September 7, 2016, the day of the keynote. Here's the thread on it: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/ios-10-0-1-gm-bug-fixes-and-changes.1992274/

Tim Cook *is* the Gold Master

Whenever it is, I hope it isn't on the same day they open pre-orders for the new hardware. Last time they got frisky and tried to do it all on the same day was a bit of a disaster wasn't it?

usually released to the devs on the same day. general release week after.
GM usually = the general release. Though there were times in the past when the actual release differed from the GM. I believe it was iOS 6, for one.
