Anyone else see any oddities after installing iOS 11 and seeing some of their music tagged incorrectly? I'll post a few screenshots.
[doublepost=1505852651][/doublepost]I’ve attached an example below.

I’ve meticulously tagged my music with artist/song/album info but in the tracklisting it shows the label “Slime Recordings” for each song name.

This happened before only with turning on iCloud Music Library in the past. It’s still turned off so I’m not quite sure why my local music library got affected in this manner.

UPDATE - 2018/06/06:

I've decided to revisit this issue since I finally found time to troubleshoot again.

To recap: if you right-click on a song in iTunes > click on Song Info > while in Details tab click on the 'song' option and choose 'work name', the text shown there is the text being show by default when you sync music to iPhone (at least for me). Doesn't matter if I try to clear this text out in iTunes and resync either, it just stays there.

Using a third-party program by dBpoweramp to edit the ID tag, there is NO 'work name' field specifically. It seems to correspond to a 'Style' field. If I clear out the text in this field, save changes, go back to iTunes and clear out 'work name' there, and perform a sync, only then does my music finally appear correctly in the music app.

iTunes is set to show song names, not 'work name' by default and my changes aren't being saved. On top of that the iOS music app may also be at fault for not showing the 'song names.' I hope this bug gets fixed next release.

I've tried unchecking the songs in my playlist, syncing so it gets deleted on iPhone, then resyncing the songs back in playlist. I've also tried renaming a few of the affected songs, resyncing, renaming back and syncing changes too, still seeing the incorrect tagging.

If I look up an example album, the song titles appear incorrectly tagged. However, if I look at the playlist they're in, the song titles do show up oddly enough. Songs are playable. The few examples I've been looking at are in AIFF format as well.

I've posted this issue in the Apple community forum as well, if there's a better way to inform Apple I'd appreciate it.

I had something similar going on with tunes that I ripped from vinyl with the Vinyl Studio. Turns out, it is a tag called "Work Name" that was causing this issue.

Here's what fixed it for me:

The problem is caused by the fact that Apple has added a new tag to iTunes tracks called "Work Name".
Work name is meant to be used for classical music to show the name of the work (as opposed to the movement).
However, Apple decided to automatically populate "work name" with the values in "grouping". So, in the Music app, it is showing you what it thinks is the name of the work being listened to, but due to a screw-up, it is showing your the grouping value instead.
To see this:
1. "Get Info" for an individual track
2. The first field is "song", but there are two arrows next to it. If you click on "song", you can change it to "work name"
To fix this:
1. Select all the affected tracks
2. "Get Info"
3. Check the box called "Use work and movement"
4. Delete the work value.
To see all the affected tracks, make a new smart playlist where "Work" is not [empty]. 8724 tracks. Thanks, Apple!

Thanks, finally good to see some explanation.

Unfortunately my changes through iTunes aren't being saved. Can't delete the Work Name text. A shame Apple can't acknowledge this problem.

Prolly an old bug popping out. Back in iTunes 12.6, I was unable to save any metadata changes to my local iTunes library. So I stuck at iTunes 12.5.3 for quite a while. Now in iTunes 12.6.2 I can, so I am ok with it.

Updated my initial post above finally. Got at least one album to sync correctly. Submitted this over to iTunes feedback as well.
