If you reduce the transparency (I normally don't use it, saves battery), the unlock animation has a super white swipe up flash because of the notification page going up. It annoys the hell outta me.

Apple needs to fix the notification animation. iOS 10 was so much better in that regard. If it ain't broken, don't fix it!!!

Why make the notification window look like the lock screen? It doesn't make sense! Get rid of this please in the next update.

PS: Turn off Transparency and unlock your phone and you'll know what I mean.

reduce transparency has always looked like this, its turning off quality for more performance, nothing new or odd there.. same thing in a pc game when u reduce graphic settings for more performance..

and if u want battery, leaving this off, & instead enabling low power mode is probably a better trade off for even more battery.

Edit: Found it.

That’s pretty ugly :(

This isn’t about reducing graphics quality for speed, it’s about accessibility. For people with poor eyesight it’s necessary for them, and there’s no reason for it to look ugly.

I know right? Can't believe they didn't check that part in Beta.

Like the other bro said, it has nothing to do with performance or graphics, some people like me don't like the transparent look of the OS. I prefer the iOS without transparency, but it looks ugly. It's unpolished!

FYI the unlock animation as well as the animation when switching between apps when tapping on a notification have been changed in iOS 11.1.

it clearly does have much to do with performance but fine, believe that. if u dont like it then... dont use it..

And there it goes again! The unhelpful mantra of this forum!
What can anyone here actually do? Change it somehow? Force Apple to change it somehow? Simply just agree with anything and everything everyone posts?

There are always people like that. Just ignore em. People here are trying to find the imperfections and try to raise the awareness to make the system better. No one says that we don't like Apple or its products. But aren't we allowed to express some critiques? Do we all live in North Korea, jesus christ...

Yes I noticed this when I first got iOS 11. What is this? I didn't know if it was a bug or just poor design. Shouldn't even exist. Looks sloppy as hell.

Yea, exactly! I don't know why Apple added that sliding factor into the unlock animation. It's dispensable.
I think it's just a very poor design of the notification window.

Hey, I saw a video of this 11.1 beta. That animation is still there. You don't see it because they turned on the transparency. Once transparency is turned off, it will flash your eyes for sure.

Its your choice to use less transperancy so, i think it looks awesome when using my settings
