I had been using the Beta of ios11 but removed the profile from settings last night. I wanted to come off from the beta updates and go back onto regular releases. I thought ios11 is released next week but within the last hour both my iPhone and iPad have asked if I want to updated to iOS 11 and it doesn’t look like a beta!

Has anyone else had a similar experience?
Thanks

If I were to guess, it appears you had set software updates to download automatically. I’m guessing this happened behind the scenes while your profile was still installed - of course, you had no way of knowing.

Once the beta profile is removed you’re relegated to the public software cycle. That release you’re seeing is actually the GM, but it shows because it was previously downloaded onto your then beta device.

Yep, this is exactly what happened. Thanks for your reply
