Noticed this stupid security bug when upgrading to iOS 11 GM.

Downloaded the iOS 11 GM from Software Update and when it finished downloading I elected to install it later.

For some reason, I restarted the phone and found that no passcode or Touch ID was required. It booted straight into the the home screen and was unlocked.

Surprised at this I shut down and restart again with the same result! I hadn’t disabled my passcode.

It seems the updater had prematurely disabled or deleted my passcode before I’d authorised the installation.

Not a huge deal to me but kind of inexcusable really.

That’s odd. When I did mine later I still had to enter a passcode to get back in after the installation.

Both on iPad Pro 9.7 and iPhone 7+

Put it this way, why would I delete a passcode?

I’d have no reason to and I certainly have no recollection of doing so.

Maybe just one of those things, but I thought I’d mention it anyway.
