So despite owning iPhones since the iPhone 3G, I've never actually used, "Reset All Settings" before.

Possibly a stupid question, but is there a list anywhere of all of the settings that are reset using this option please?

I'm only asking as I've been advised I need to do this to resolve a problem with my phone, but I do want to be able to manually put all of the affected settings back where they are at the moment afterward.

Any help with a list appreciated, I have tried searching but to no avail.

Thank you.

The “Reset all Settings” option keeps your apps and data but resets personal preferences and network settings. “Reset Network Settings” removes any Wi-Fi network information, including connection passwords.

Thank you for the reply, so I guess we're talking literally everything in the settings menu will be reverted to defaults, including all the individual app settings?

It will reset network, keyboard dictionary, home screen layout, and location & privacy settings, etc back to default. You will not lose any files, documents, data, or apps.

Thanks again.

After selecting the option, I did indeed have to basically go through every setting and change it back to my preference which took a while, but it was worth it as it solved my issue.

Out of curiosity, what was your issue?

I see this fix suggested often, for all sorts of issues, but rarely confirmation that it actually worked...

Thank you for asking - a combination of my own stupidity and Apple’s poor design choices culminated in my issue.

The full explanation of my problem is here.

Just pleased it’s finally resolved.

Hopefully others can benefit from this knowledge too.

PS - for those thinking of using the, “Reset All Settings“ option.

Before selecting it, I literally wrote down every single setting. Although time-consuming, it saved a lot of concern and effort when reinstating the settings.

I didn’t bother writing down the individual settings for apps, as this would’ve been a real task.

I decided I would just change the options as I opened each app.

For example, almost every app I open now asks me whether I will allow notifications etc

Make screenshots next time. Saves you a lot of hassle.

Yes I thought about doing that, but writing it down actually made me remember them so whilst reinstating I didn’t really have to refer back to my notes.

Others will definitely prefer the screenshot method though, no doubt.
