I have a iPhone 6s and is just wondering if people think it’s fine to run the public beta on my main device.

Running a beta always entails some risks, especially on older devices. However, Apple gives you a path back to to non-beta software if things don't go well. The key thing is that you make an encrypted backup of your device before you install the beta software. That way, if things go wrong, when you go back to the mainline version of the software, you'll be able to restore your data. You can google how to do all these things if you don't know how.
