IOS 12 iPhone Calendar search limitation

I have noticed this issue recently about not being able to go back in time and search for something over say the last 1-10 years. Quite annoying.. Say you put in a trip to Hong Kong a few years ago in your Calendar and then decide to do a search today for Hong Kong in Calendar but for some reason it does not show all the Hong Kong events you created in the past on the iPhone. On my MacBook Pro though it shows them all. They are all synced by the way. If you check manually that date from say 3 years ago after checking date on MacBook you can find it on the iPhone but if you just type in Hong Kong in the search section of Calendar on the iPhone it does not bring all those previous Hong Kong events up.. Why..?

I can't recall a time when it was possible to Search for any Calendar event older than the previous year. It's my biggest complaint about iOS Calendar. I've used iPhones for more than 10 years. I also have a third-party calendar (which allows for copy/paste of events from previous entries in order to repeat irregular appointments) but because it is based on iOS Calendar, Search also has the same limitations. It's ridiculous.

Thanks, I was just wondering if it was just me having this problem. Don’t see why it can only go back 1 year. How difficult can it possibly be to get search to go back past 1 year..? Should not require Einstein to figure this one out. Hopefully Tim Cook is reading this and gets this resolved for iPhone users. Imagine staying at a hotel two years ago where you made some notes in your Calendar. Hike traveling two years later you go back to check and can not find anything in the search during that time period from. 2-3 years ago. All these new Super Processors with laptop power they advertise and then it can’t even do a simple search from inside your own Calendar..? WTF ..? Same goes for iPad Pro. We are talking about devices over $1000-1800 that can not do Calendar searches past 1 year

I still keep a Palm TX updated with a third-party Calendar (DateBk6) that while also current, allows me to search as far back as Feb 2003, when I began using PDAs. I can absolutely search/find everything that I've documented in that Calendar!

Check your settings. If I recall correctly, default on iOS is 30 days history.

I don’t see a setting limitation. Either I really missed something or Tim Cooks really needs to do something about this
