Hello chaps. Hope you are all well :)

Problem: the keyboard on my iPad, bottom left-most corner is smilies, then numbers/symbols to the right of that button. On my iPhone it’s reversed. One or the other is not an issue, but the difference between the keyboards results in me pressing the numbers when I want smilies, and smilies when I want numbers, when switching devices. This is definitely new to iOS 12 in my case.

The keyboard settings on both devices are identical. Am I missing something obvious here? Surely Apple are not this silly? At the moment I’m assuming it’s some failing on my part...
