iPhone IOS 12 Muted Alarm?

Hi All, is anyone else having issues with the alarm in IOS 12? I have been testing the alarm and they seem to be nearly silent even when the volume is set to full.

Do you by any chance have the iPhone X and are you looking at the phone as the alarm rings? If so, that's on account of the FaceID sensor "sensing" you are looking at the phone and deciding not to blast your ears off at close range. Attention awareness, I think it's called.

If that's not the case, then sorry, your guess is as good as mine.

I have an iPhone 7+ but it also happened to my partners iPhone X. I am just curious is anyone else had the same experience this morning.

Note, I have been using the developers beta since June. This issue started when upgrading to the GM last week.
