In iOS 12, if you prefer to view News in landscape mode (which I prefer for ALL of my viewing), you lose 1/3 of your screen to their stupid Channels sidebar. You can hide it in Portrait mode, which I'm now forced to use, but not in Landscape. Really, Apple?
I've suggested to them that they remedy this, and hope others do likewise.

I agree. This seems like a massive oversight to me. At the weekend I like to catch up on the news and use the iPad keyboard as a stand and the screen is smaller because of this.

News is one of the things changed in IOS 12 that I think made the app much worse. It is much harder to read - there is a political news section that I can't get rid of and I don't want - too much political news.
Definitely, a step in wrong direction.

I agree. It looks very cluttered now. Reading articles used to be so elegant and beautiful on Apple News. Now it’s just messy.

If this the case then yay :D

Yep!
