Has anyone else been having problems with their phones Bluetooth disconnecting while connected to a vehicle?

Never had any sort of issue before the 13 update and now at random start up or if I pause audio playback the phone will disconnect 2-4+- times before it “settles” down and just stays connected.

I don’t have issues with my AirPods staying connected.

Yes, I have had a lot of problems, bluetooth that disconnects, but today's update 13.1.2 should have addressed them. Let's update and test again!

Updated to 13.1.2. My AirPods 1 still disconnects, aka super small bluetooth effective area (aka from my ear to my pocket lol). My Apple Watch series 4 has the same problem.

Not sure about car (have yet to pair 11 Pro w/ car), but BT earpiece, yes, it just spontaneously dis/reconnects. Have had this and other issues in past versions of iOS and dealt with Apple more times than I can count. For some reason the BT stack is just consistently a hot mess in iOS. No excuse whatsoever, one of these days Cook is going have to grow up and stop falling to the demand from the cult and make sure everything works before something is released. I'm sorry, but for what we pay for Apple devices, what we get shouldn't be half-baked half-beta just to please some followers with a hyped release date, only forcing us all to DL/install an update every week or two for the first three months.

definitely having trouble, dropped call, problems with my hearing aids, problems with apps

never, ever had so much trouble with my phone

the hearing aid disconnect and reconnect alone is driving me buggy

wow apple, you really hooped this release

I use Oticon hearing aids using bluetooth. It worked solid using y old iPhone 6. Now that I upgraded to XR the BT connection keeps dropping. I have no problem streaming music, however.

Yes I've had drops. Also something "fun" when I type in iMessage (possibly other apps as as well) the Bluetooth volume INCREASES with each letter. How whacked is that?

glad to hear others are having trouble with different hearing aids (i have widex) which means it's likely an apple issue and not a hearing aid makers problem

hopefully they will get this stuff fixed sooner rather than later

My two boys have these Philips Sonicare toothbrushes that connect to an app on iPad or iPhone. Before the update to iOS 13, they would connect. Now they don’t show up in the Bluetooth device list. Something is wrong with it.

My 2018 BMW X5 won't stay connected when making or receiving calls via bluetooth. Phone just disconnects from the car, then reconnects, sometimes doesn't reconnect and I have to delete my device and set it up again.

I spoke with BMW UK customer services and they informed me the iPhone 11 Pro is not currently supported by their cars. They advised me a software update would be coming but couldn't tell me when.

I'm running iOS 13.2 beta 1 so not holding much hope for a fix anytime soon.

It's not the cars, its apple. iOS has broken bluetooth for a whole load of cars and its seriously unfair for apple to expect the cars to update to support whatever they broke.

My Lexus is staying connected but no contacts are syncing across. Being a 2017 car as well there is no way LExus would update it.

To be fair to BMW I think you're right. I've read a lot of other people from different manufacturers complaining about various issues.

It's a real problem for me as I have my own business and made a lot of calls during my commute and to and from meetings. Now I can't even hold a call with someone due to fear of it just dropping!

I have a 2016 Lexus and same problem

I have a 2018 X1 and have the same issues. Connection to the phone randomly drops as well. Podcasts seems to drop also for a second and then restart. Very frustrating as I listen to mainly podcasts when I drive.

2018 Lexus ES will stay connected for 5 seconds. I’ll have to look at connecting via the USB cable.

no issues with watch nor AirPods

Please fix!

Exactly the same here. So frustrating.... didn't happen on iOS 12

I have Widex hearing aids. They worked well until IOS 13.x. Now the volume “goes crazy” - randomly going to 0 or to max volume for one or both aids, and the Widex won’t sync with the hearing aid control buttons. Widex support said that this was NORMAL!!! $6,000 for hearing aids and I get garbage support!

Do you have the latest 13.1.3 update installed that was released this week? Seems like that has some fixes related to Bluetooth as well as hearing aids:
  • Fixes an issue where Bluetooth may disconnect on certain vehicles
  • Improves connection reliability of Bluetooth hearing aids and headsets

I had problems with 3rd party apps that I didn't allow bluetooth access when I first started the app. It would seem the main bluetooth profile would work but profiles that use other BT features like controls would cause all sort of oddities.

May not be the issue for everyone/anyone but worth a shot if you haven't checked and the issue is specifically with particular apps. Settings > app > Bluetooth or Settings > Privacy > Bluetooth > App.

I’ve had trouble in my Chrysler 300 since iOS 13. Specifically, the phone won’t connect via Bluetooth at all, at least half of the time. When it does connect, it stays connected. But 60% of the time, it never connects in the first place.
13.1.3 has NOT fixed this issue for me.

Uconnect?

(click the link)

If its not Uconnect see if there is an update for the software of whatever head unit you have.

If you already are on the latest update or it still doesn't work, forget the bluetooth on both the iPhone and head unit. From there try repairing it as a new device. Make sure you allow access to functions if/when prompted (contacts, etc).

Like I mentioned prior, if you are using a 3rd party app make sure it has access to bluetooth functionality.

Good luck.
