Hi all, I need some assistance here, please!

Last weekend, out of completely stupidity, I acceted when iTunes asked me to update my iPhone 8 to iOS 13, and my nightmares begun.
I have this iPhone 8 for little over one year now and iOS 12.4.1 has been rock steady, perfect, no crashes, lockups, and my battery has been working like it never worked before on ANY iPhone i had (i had them all)!! I frequently check my battery health status and a week ago it was rocking som good 98%, which was confirmed by the LOOOONG amount of time the device was able to fully function with just 1% battery left.

Well, so heres the dark part: right after i upgraded to iOS 13, iTunes asked for 13.1.1 (why it didnt go directly to 13.1.1 instead!!!??) and my problems with apps crashing, device over heating and specially BATTERY DRAINING like a 12 cilinder car gas tank! It became impossible to keep it in this iOS, because my baterry started to last less than 6 to 7 hours in the same exact usage i did last week and all the previous time.

So I immediatly gave up iOS 13 and only yesterday had time to restore it to 12.4.1.

Problem is: my baterry now is WORSE than in iOS 13.1.1!! Its literally DRAINING about 1% ever 5 to 10 min, in standby!!!

I checked the baterry health status and now it says 89%!!!! WHAAAAATTTT???

How come is that possible!!!!!???

An upgrade to a bad iOS can phisically damage a battery???

Please, help!!

How do i get my battery to the same status it was 4 or 5 days ago, before this awful iOS 13!!????

Thansk in advance!!

I would suggest giving your device a day or two to “settle down” after resetting or upgrading. I have found that, on my last 5 devices, battery performance improves after a couple days.

That’s not “damage” by any stretch of the term.

That aside, any major change (upgrading or downgrading) to the OS kicks off a bunch of housekeeping tasks like indexing. You simply need to give it time to settle down and complete those background tasks.
