Hi all,

I previously tried out iOS Public Beta 1 and had issues with iMessage so I reverted back to iOS 12.3 and did a clean setup and waited until now to try Developer Beta 3, and sure enough the problem persists.

I don't know if it's the carrier version that it updates but I'm on Vodafone UK which used to show on the status bar as "vodafone 4G", it's now changed to "vodafone LTE".

The problem I have with iMessage is that its working for my email address but it knows nothing about my phone number. I have tried reactivating iMessage to no avail as well as removing the SIM and reinserting etc.

I have reset network settings also but I notice that under my Apple ID in the settings app my phone number was missing. Adding it back has no effect. Other parts of the system know what my phone number is so it's reading the SIM fine, I can also make and receive calls.

Regular text messages also aren't working which is odd.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Did you try Reset All Settings?

Yep, still the same, if I downgrade to iOS 12 it all starts working again, upgrade to 13 and it breaks.

I can actually receive a regular SMS message but I can’t send and I can only send an iMessage from my email address.

Also I just noticed that all the roaming data settings are also missing:

FYI you can still clearly see your phone number.

Thanks guys, it looked blanked out at my end, doh!

This problem appears to be specific to Vodafone UK as I have found a thread on their own forum. Seems everyone with iOS 13 on Vodafone is having the issue and needs a carrier update.

Hi. So did you actually manage to get it fixed in the end and do a carrier update to fix this? I'm on Vodafone too and am having the same problem. I have tried to manually find a carrier update by going to Settings > General > About but no update has been shown?

Sadly not no; no carrier update has been pushed yet that I’m aware of
