I was on the PB for iOS 12, but skipped joining for iOS 13. Can I install the profile and then download the 13GM version early or do I have to wait for the 13 official release?

Wondering the same thing too!

It looks like you can definitely upgrade from iOS 13.1 public beta to iOS 13.0 GM but can it be done from iOS 12 release?

I confirm that it worked fine on my MacBook with IPSW file, updating from iOS 13.0 PB 7 to iOS 13 GM. I am not a developer and did it on a normal current macOS (Mojave) without Xcode or anything special preinstalled.

The only peculiarity is that when I alt-clicked the “check for update” button in iTunes to select the IPSW file, iTunes needed to download and install a small update so the iOS 13 update itself could continue. Other than that, it went really smooth on my iPhone 7.

My MacBook Pro is recognising my iPhone but not allowing me to back it up. It says there's a problem reading the data and that my only option is to restore the iPhone (which I don't want to do).

I was on 13.1 PB but restored to 12.4.1 before the keynote as I wanted to get 13.0 GM. I’ve just downloaded the GM and updated my XS Max with no problem. I had deleted the beta profile and used an iMac running High Sierra. As someone else has already posted, iTunes had to download and install something before updating the phone, but it all went smoothly.

Anyones device running hot after installing iOS13 GM?

Yes, but only for a few mins whilst it re-indexed etc. Photos.app will 'curate' whilst the phone is charging and the screen is off. If the phone is getting seriously hot, power it off and back on and see if the problem persists.
