Hi,

I'd really like to check out the latest iOS public beta, but I'm concerned (based on reading in some places) that there remain issues when expecting things to work well with non beta WatchOS (5.3) & macOS Mojave (10.14.6) devices.

As an example, my understanding is that Reminders will no longer sync to my iMac because it seems to have been totally re-written/structures the data differently.

Are there others in this scenario that can perhaps provide their experience (positive or negative) with this please?

Thanks in advance

Shortcuts stop working on non-beta devices afaik.
I think iCloud safari tab sharing never works between beta and non-beta releases.

I just read people have had issues with their Apple Watch not pairing with their phone via Bluetooth when using the iOS 13 beta, apparently even with the just released beta build.

already sounds like best to leave it for now, although given that it's due for release in a month, I was hoping it would be pretty stable by now!

I'm on PB6 (been on it since PB2) and also on Watch OS 5 and actually High Sierra. My Series 3 has been significantly faster since being paired with iOS13. I had been really getting frustrated with it before the upgrade because it had become so slow. No problems at all and unlike others I haven't had any issues with battery.

Regarding syncing, Reminders/Notes will work with older OSes as long as you don't upgrade. When you first open Reminders, it asks if you want to upgrade to the new version and also lists devices that will need to be updated in order to work. I have no upgraded and so far I've had no issues syncing Reminders and Notes.

Safari tabs and Contacts have not been syncing however but that's always been the case.

Thanks very much, that's really helpful! I actually wanted to use the new Reminders but not at the cost of losing sync ability with my iMac - good to know!

No problems here with AW4 on 5.3 and iPhone on 13 beta.

I'm on the dev preview build of iOS (#7 is current; PB version is 6), and my watch is on watchOS 5.3 (NON-beta)... and macOS 10.14.6... and NO PROBLEMS at all.

The issues reported have to do with people installing the watchOS betas with out bothering to follow the process...

Ah that sounds positive, presume you've either accepted loss of sync of Reminders or opted out of upgrading it?

Is it expected that notes also sync only from the non beta device to the beta device?

I don't know about notes, I'd wager the newer features break the iCloud sync. That and the fact that shared folders are iOS 13 only (I think?). There was no warning about any potential sync issues when opening the notes app though. Only got that in Reminders (and they explicitly require you to click "Upgrade" for the new features, giving you a list of devices that wont get any reminders synced over anymore and asking for your explicit consent to proceed).

It is stable enough with all bugs that might or might never be fixed. So it is stable for a beta version standard.

It will sync between beta device and non beta device without problem. What will have problems with is reminders, where upgraded format won’t work with older OS and reminders created on older OS will not sync with newer OS.

The only reminders that I use are geo-based... and that's always on my phone, so not an issue for me. I do recognize that it could be an issue if you are a heavy user.

Hmmm for me reminders don’t sync from the beta device to any others. Only one way.

My notifications aren't syncing. I am getting notifications on both my watch and phone, rather than the typical watch only (unless the phone is unlocked). I am running beta on my phone and Watch OS5.3.

I did pair and unpair and it still is doing it.
