Hi everyone
Has anyone noticed any issues with the touchscreen in iOS 14.0.1/14.1?
I’m on an iPhone 11, and most of the times when I unlock my phone the touchscreen doesn’t respond to inputs for about a second. Also, multitouch doesn’t work in some apps at random times and keyboard lags (mainly in Messages, but Telegram has issues as well).
I’ve never had this issue since iOS 14.0.1/14.1. Anyone experiencing the same?

I may be seeing some issues on a 7. Not these specifically, but other such as screen not responding in a random area on and off. This was not the case with 14.0.1 on this device. I hope to see a resolution in 14.2.

Also, in your first sentence you talk of issues in 14.0.1 and 14.1, and in the last you say you have never had these issues since 14.0.1 and 14.1. Did you mean to say before 14.0.1?

Since the iOS 14 betas I’ve seen a bug where when I first open messages, if I start typing immediately there’s no response from the keyboard, then the message window will fill with everything I’ve typed after a few seconds.

Additionally on 14.1 I’m seeing stuttering scrolling behavior on Safari as the scroll slows to a stop. I’ve never seen this in any previous iOS version. Has anyone else experienced this? Both of these issues are on an 11 Pro.

I’m seeing the same sorts of issues since 14.1 on both iPhone 11 and iPad Pro 9.7”. Specifically, I’ve seen:
- Action buttons become inactive in some apps while a text entry box remains active. And no, it’s not the screen itself because that same physical screen location responds to touch in other displays, and those same buttons remain inactive after the display is rotated (reoriented) on the physical screen.
- Safari stuttering while scrolling
- Safari slow to display web pages
- The device seems generally a bit slower all round.

I was experiencing the same issue on iPhone 11 -iOS 14.0 (brand new device).I had contacted Apple Support and they asked me to update to 14.1 ;the issue still exists.I took the device to an Apple authorized service center , they did some diagnostics and informed me that nothing is wrong. I still hate missed touches on my device.
I had posted the issue on Apple Official Support forum, got no response. Also reported the bug to apple,no update. This is the issue i'm facing

  • The calender month view and date view touch is a hit or miss .I need to tap again to open the month. This also happens when I need to go back from the month using the back option on the top left corner.Need to tap again to make sure it hits the sweet spot.
  • Noticed this when using Apple Chat support too on safari, the send message button is a hit or miss.
  • I updated to IOS 14.1 as per apple's advice.Does not help.
  • Same touch miss issues on many other applications like Amazon and even Apple Books scrolling

Basically the the touch is not working as intended when I tap sometimes,it seems I need to focus and apply the right amount of pressure to hit the sweet spot.

I’m experiencing similar issues with iPhone SE (2016) after iOS 14 and 14.1 updates. Ghost touches, scroll stuttering, unresponsive touches, and areas activated near my touch but not close enough to be a miss. For example, typing has become nearly impossible. I turned off 3rd party keyboards and swipe and it seems to have helped eliminate ghost touches and scroll stutter. I’m still experiencing keyboard typing issues. Typing this message was an exercise in frustration.
