I’m running iOS 14.2 on an iPhone XR and iPad Pro (2020 12.9). I’m sharing my location with a single person, by selecting “Share my location” in iMessage. This has been working without trouble for years (over many different phones/iPads) - my location has been visible in the iMessage Info screen and in the Find-My app. But starting sometime last week it keeps turning off on its own - I see the notification in iMessage “You stopped sharing your location with <name>.” So I turn it back on (in iMessage, selecting Share My Location and picking Indefinitely) but the next time they view my message or message me back I see the same notification that it has stopped. I’m not sure what changed to cause this.

Unfortunately I don’t recall when I performed the upgrade to 14.2 on both devices. I think the iPhone was upgraded in the morning (Nov 5th) and the iPad at the end of the day, and I didn’t see the first Stopped notification until late that evening. Regardless, it started the same day so it seems related to the upgrade. I have tried resetting the Privacy settings (Settings->General->Reset->Reset Location and Privacy) on both devices, and then allowing Messages again to use location when using the app etc. But it hasn’t solved the problem.

I’m wondering if anyone has a similar problem, or suggestions on how I can troubleshoot?

I'm having a similar issue — I'm running 14.2 and I'm not able to share my location, nor use the Find My app (I get a "Sign in to find your friends and family on the map" message, with a link to Settings), although once I click through, I'm already signed in. When I try to share my location, I get the "Share My Location Unavailable" modal ("Unable to connect to server. Please try again later.").

Same issue here. also noticed that even when I correct it and share my location it sometimes it doesn't work.

It's a software issue. Went through his on and off for a period of time. Apple did an update and issue was finally resolved.
