DFU restored set up as new (besides contacts) and i cannot for the life of me drag a widget (battery) from the widget screen to the home screen! ip11 tried a reboot and still will not work.

Edit: Virgin Mobile carrier settings updated to 45.1

Updated my iPad and now its making me do a restore through plugging into my computer. It won't update though because it says the file is corrupt.

Battery life is terrible on iOS 14.5 beta 5, 12 pro max, is it back to normal on 14.4.2?

On par with both 14.4 and 14.4.1 on my 11, never tried 14.5 betas.
Good to hear, battery life is definitely down on my 12 pro max by a 1h30m on iOS 14.5 beta 5, hopefully apple can fix this with the next beta.

My WiFi has been very unstable, and the signal has gotten noticeably worse, after upgrading to 14.4.2. Anyone else experiencing WiFi issues with this update?

Thanks

Anyone having iMessage issues with switching between SMS and iMessage? My girlfriend has an android device so when I text her it goes as a SMS. Sometimes if I start a new iMessage with another contact, when I go back to her thread and try to text her it will only try to iMessage her which obviously fails. The only way to get it back to SMS is to either delete her message thread and start over or completely force close iMessage and the hit start new message then enter her name which takes me back into the existing message but resets it to SMS. It doesn't happen all the time but it has happened enough times between 14.4.1 and 14.4.2 to make me wonder if it's isolated to my device. Just curious if anyone has had anything similar happen

Well, I updated my IPP today and not too sure I’m happy with this update. I plugged in my flash drive to get some photos to work on and, 15 minutes later they are not all loaded. I’ve never experienced that before. Plus, the files app kept going non responsive. I really hope this gets straightened out.

I’m also having iMessage issues: when I open the messaging app there’s a bar along the bottom that say “updating to iCloud.” The app freezes until this update is done, I can’t click on anything for several seconds.

I'm getting the same thing, however my messages app doesn't freeze.

Are you experiencing signal issues with LTE/5G? With the cellular signal? Or are you just experiencing issues with WiFi? Thank you, I am hesitant to update my iPhone 8.

Hi, it’s just the WiFi (I don’t have 5G where I live). However, it seems to have gotten much better now, dunno why, but lately it seems that the iPhone needs some time to “adjust” after a new update... 🤷‍♂️ I have two modems/routers with separate IDs and passwords in my house. Normally the phone should automatically switch between them, but the second router doesn’t always do that, however that was also an “issue” before the update... So, basically, my WiFi signal is now as good as before. I really think it has something to do with the phone needing to “settle” for a little while after an update... 🤷‍♂️

After this update I can’t see the battery life for the last 10 days (yet) anymore for whatever reason 🤷‍♂️ Can’t remember it being like that with previous updates. Not a big deal, more of a curiosity...
