Unable to send mail containing pdf attachments on IMAP mail account using SMTP on native Mail app.
Error started since 14.4.
Sending email on SMTP from native iOS Mail client is failing.
Instead it is giving error.

This error is completely unexpected.

The Mail sending does not fail with mails without attachments. The failure happens when there are pdf attachments in the mail.
The error message is -
“Cannot Send Mail.
The connection to the outgoing server ’smtp.mail.gov.in’ failed. Additional Outgoing Mail Servers can be configured for Mail accounts in Settings > Accounts & Passwords.”

No such error occurs when connecting through Gmail or outlook.com accounts. The error occurs only with IMAP type accounts.

I am having the problem in native Mail app of iOS.
I wonder where did you get the error message quoted above? The error message you quoted does not appear on the native Mail app. It seems to be from a web browser.

A question of rules on the specific server related to files size or file type maybe? E.g. the institution I work for does not permit the send or receive files bigger than 4 Mb (regardless of file type) or zipped files over their mail server.

But this problem has started recently over iOS 14.4.
The same mail servers were permitting sending mails with attachments of similar size.
Does it have something to do with the iOS Mail App?
