In short, after upgrade from 13.4 to 14.2 , I was not able to connect to the chrome cast.

Before (with 13.2) whenever there was chrome cast connection issue, I could resume (I.e. seeing in on YouTube app) by rebooting the netgear wifi router.

Now with 14.2, even I reboot the router and able to see the chrome cast in the network map in Netgear genie, I was not able to see the casting option in YouTube.

the worst of all, I noted there was a big cross over my iPhone (14.2) while my wife s iPhone (13.6) was shown properly and she could cast video to chrome cast from her iphone.

is there any setting in iOS 14 that block the phone to connect to other devices on lan?

I have no problem with connecting to internet though.

I have a Chromecast issue also. Since updating to 14, no casting icon appears on Kanopy, Facebook, Netflix, Youtube. even after rebooting there is clearing a conflict. Does anyone have a permanent solution? Have been using iPhone instead, but really , its not good enough. Using 14.3 currently.

hello, I later found out in ios14 that the default on of the new security feature of blocking access to other LAN devices would fail the connection to chrome cast.

Under the Setting, try to give YouTube app access to other LAN devices.

hope that helps
