I've used a shortcut to go directly to the appstore updates page for like 2 years now. I have it as an icon on my homescreen.

Scripting, Open itms-apps://apps.apple.com/updates with x-callback

As of iOS 14.3, this shortcut no longer works when run from an icon on the homescreen. It still works perfectly fine when executed inside the shortcuts app.

And more weirdly yet, it worked fine after updating, but now stopped working-- when I tap the icon nothing happens whatsoever. This is on 2 iPads and my iPhone. Rebooting the phone or force stopping the Shortcuts app doesn't fix it. Seems like a bizarre bug with the new iOS 14.3 functionality to run a shortcut without fully opening the shortcuts app.

Has anyone else run into this? Any ideas how to fix it?

Exactly the same scenario for me. Every homescreen shortcut worked just fine after updating to iOS 14.3 but today, about 9 hours later, nothing works. The shortcuts are just plain dead and won't execute at all from homescreen.

So with iOS 14.3 it's EVEN WORSE than with iOS 14.2.1.

I'm on 14.3 (RC2, which I believe is the same as the released version). This works:

URL: apps.apple.com/updates Safari: Open URL

I also have one to check for iOS updates as I like running the betas.
URL is prefs:root=General&path=SOFTWARE_UPDATE_LINK

Yeah, this is a really weird problem!

Removing and reinstalling the shortcuts app works for a bit, but then it just breaks again.

@zinned: Do you have any unusual URL shortcuts like the one I put in the OP? Trying to narrow down where the bug lies.

It seems to happen when I run a shortcut that in itself runs another shortcut that displays a menu. It will be displayed to it I don't choose any of the options in the menu but instead press outside of the menu area, the shortcut is supposed to go along (in this case stop) but that never happens. Not until i swipe from the bottom and up.

After this no other shortcut will run from homescreen. At all. Reboot required.

Also really annoying that Apple has been informed about the bugs with the wallpaper actions in the betas but still haven't fixed them!

Not possible to turn off perspective mode and every image also gets a bit zoomed in because of that. Now that shortcut action is totally useless.

Rebooting didn't fix it for me. Only reinstalling the shortcuts app resets the bug and makes them work again, until they then break.

@adrianlondon's fix of using the Safari URL instead looks to avoid the bug entirely and is what I recommend. Thank you Adrian!
