Hello all,

i am wanting to install the first public beta of iOS14. I also want to make sure it’s stable and as able to use it daily. I may wait depending on the stability. I’ve seem to be reading that it’s pretty stable. How is it for you all who have it installed?

I have been running the Developer beta and it has been very stable on my iPhone SE and iPad Pro 11.

Make sure you know how to create an encrypted backup before you consider installing any beta.

I am using it on my daily iPhone 11 Pro Max, its my only iPhone and I have seen zero issues with PB1 so far. This is by far the most stable Beta I have seen to date. I even went ahead and installed it in my iPad due to how stable its been.

Using the public beta on my phone since it got released, no issues at all, all aboard the iOS 14 train, its been awesome so far.

Make sure you have a backup, just incase something goes wrong.

am amazed to not (yet) have any issues (outside of the news app crashing often when i go to play a video in the app). small stuff! everything else is great, my bank app works (whew!), and am enjoying using my phone more than ever...

No noticeable draining that i have seen. Granted, I am a light SE (2020) user.

Battery life has been decent so far, getting 30 minutes less battery life than on iOS 13, can’t complain considering it’s a early beta.

am not seeing any difference here; this is an anecdotal observation, but.. my phone battery is where it usually is by the end of the day.

I was having all sorts of issues with iOS 13 on my iPhone and iPad (daily crashes, lock ups, and resets), and whilst it has its quirks, iOS 14 feels more stable overall. Battery life has been the best I’ve ever seen on a beta, GM quality.

Chiming in with those that say it’s pretty dang stable. Using it on my daily driver and have only noticed a couple hiccups. Submitted feedback for both and kept it moving. I was cautious to jump on this one due to a couple oh nos through the years, but I dare say this PB is almost if not as stable as 13.5.1 has been.

Stable is a subjective term. Beta performance tends to go up and down as the cycle progresses also it’s not safe to assume that because a particular release works really well that all subsequent releases will also.

I’ve always said if you can’t risk a crash during an important call or meeting than running a beta probably isn’t for you.
