iOS 14 Vehicle message notification

It seems after the latest iOS update, my car won’t show message notifications when not using CarPlay, via Bluetooth. Tells me to turn on notifications that are already on. Previous to iOS 14, if I wasn't plugged in to CarPlay but using Bluetooth and I received a message, it would show on the dash and I could read it or listen to it, now I can't after the update. System says to turn on message notifications but, they're already on, thoughts?
