Has anyone done speed test comparisons between iOS14 & iOS15? Which performs better on older devices? Older iPhones are crippled with low memory and I'm wondering if that is affecting iOS15 performance?

I was so badly burned by the disastrously horrible performance of iOS7 (iOS7 crippled my iPhone 5, even rotation animations were choppy) that I am VERY hesitant to update to new iOS versions.

My iPhone 8 & iPad Pro (10.5") are still on iOS 12. Some apps auto-updated and now won't open because my iOS is too old (still frustrated it updated). I've been cleaning up unused apps and photos in preparation for an update to iOS14, but now I'm wondering if I should just wait a bit more and update to iOS 15.

On iPhone 11 Pro Max ios15 is better and faster, animatorima are smoother. Overall better UI experience

On iPad 7th gen (A10/3GB RAM), I'm getting tons of reloads on iOS 15.

I'd update to iOS 14 now while that's still an option. I know Apple mentioned they're gonna continue security updates for it but there's no guarantee you can update to 14 from lower firmware once 15 is out.
