I had no issues before with my storage and now I see 48 out of 256 GB used, in reality I use around 120-130 GB of storage...

See this screenshot I have over 80 GB of pictures but I use only 48 GB in total, wtf is this. Come on Apple

We wait for 15.0.1 for this bug to be fixed and then it pops up again in 15.1

This is crazy!
WTF, don’t they even care?
I think it’s time to take my new iPad and phone in for replacement because it obviously must be a hardware problem on all our devices If 2 updates haven’t fix it.

So having read the entire thread... no, there is no reason for me to bother with 15.x yet. Works for me.

I feel your frustration but I'm actually happy to report that iOS 15.1 appears to have fixed my iPhone storage. Previously my System Data was super high, like 30-40 GB. Now it's back to 0 and my iPhone storage is basically at what my iPhone 11 was before iOS 15 and my iPhone 13 Pro came along.

Looks like they didn’t merge the fix to the 15.1 branch.

My phone says I’ve 167GB free of 128GB so this bug has managed to increase my iPhone storage capacity ?

I guess you really can download more storage. :p

Is 0GB System Data actually normal? Even on iOS 12, I think minimum I've seen it is 3-4GB. I don't think I've ever had 0GB Other/System Data.

System Data shouldn't be zero.

My iPhone magically fixed itself from one day to the other on 15.1. my iPad Air 4 storage is still way off. Somehow it seems to keep more photos ON the device with optimized storage turned on than before but also not reporting it as „photos“ but others instead

I did not have this issue since the beginning of iOS 15. Is the problem maybe related to OTA updates?

BTW: if you look at settings - general - about, do you see the same storage?

Prior to iOS 15 it was measured in kilobytes for me. Only after transferring to a new iPhone, and iOS 15 being released, did mine shoot way up. In my case it doubled my storage which obviously didn’t make sense. I’m not sure what’s normal or not for System Data/Other, but I am back to what it was before iOS 15.
