i have a modem that uses dual network speeds: 2.4ghz & 5ghz. If i choose the 5ghz WIFI home net, emails are slow to post, the number of emails shows, but they don’t load immediately. If i choose the 2.4ghz home WIFI network on my iPad Pro, the emails download immediately. As you see I do not understand this modem, as I thought setting the network on the 5ghz setting would be faster. Will anyone share with me why the 5ghz is slower w email posting on my iPadPro?

Distance from router? Also, any physical barriers? In general, 2.4 GHz can travel farther and isn't as easily attenuated as 5 GHz.

I am 8 feet away from the modem in the same room.

You are saying I need to stay on the 2.4 network at home?

There's something weird going on if you're in the same room and still don't get good signal on 5 GHz. By any chance do you have any devices that could be interfering with the signal? Cordless phones, etc?

Are you using a combo modem/wireless router provided by your ISP? Those can be hit or miss. I prefer to separate the functions (cable modem for internet + separate wireless mesh network).

Not necessarily. It depends on home size+materials, router location and client device location.

Have a Netgear78 modem. Only an iPhonePro11. I get fast internet use ability on 5ghz, only the email issue Is slow. Course I can use the 2.4ghz to get fast email download.
