Reading reports that all devices that are on iOS 15.x will be able to receive iOS 15.7.2. It’s still even possible to downgrade very easily back to iOS 15 from iOS 16. This has to be a new record for amount of software support for devices capable of running iOS 16. Usually Apple cuts us off by now

And how exactly can you downgrade? Last time i‘ve checked ios 15,7 was unsigned and you can only download the updates after tjis one OTA.

Download the iOS 15.6 Rc ipsw (19G69), Restore your device with that firmware as that is still being signed for some reason. Then simply update over the air to 15.7.1 until 15.7.2 is released

Вы можете ссылаться на подписанную версию IOS 15.6 RC для разработчиков

в настоящее время подписано 12/12/2022 iOS 15.6 Rc ipsw (19G69) на iphone 12pro max?

Is the 15.7.2 update supposed to be available OTA for iPhone 7+? Settings, General, Software Update continues to say I am on 15.7.1 and am up to date.

No, 15.7.2 is right now only available as release candidate (RC), basically a final beta version. It should become available to everyone today or later this week.

It seems like you need the iOS 15 beta profile to get this on iPhone 8-13. Installing now.

The Apple security update page says iPhone 6s, iPhone 7 and SE 1 only. Not sure how accurate it is since it also says iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air 2, iPad 5 and mini 4 and later.

I believe you can’t post those website.. Anyway, it is not possible that you need the beta profile to download it. Also, that you are downloading is the RC, can’t know if it is the final or not…

I’m gonna have patience and just assume they wait with the rollout for iOS 16 compatible devices so to reduce the number of people that will accidentally download this update instead of iOS 16.2

It's been confirmed that the RC and final are the same build.

The strange thing is iPadOS 15.7.2 shows on my M1 iPad Pro so iPad that can run iPadOS 16 can still continue with 15.

For phones, if you go to the update page and they immediately shows 16.2 to install then it means Apple officially drop iOS 15 for phones and will try to "force" users update to 16.
