I had no issues distinguishing between a single notification and grouped notifications from a single app on iOS 14. But now with iOS15 i find it hard to distinguish. I know there is a slight border and shadowing when the notifications are stacked but in iOS 14 it was more obvious. I know having a dark wallpaper doesn't help things but so did i with iOS 14.

Anyone else having this issue?

Main problem is swiping and deleting a group of notifications while thinking it was a single one.

No, I also wondered today if I was looking at a single or multiple notification.

It would be great if someone with an account could post feedback to Apple about this issue. I have been forced to use a bright wallpaper so i can better distinguish between a single notification vs a stacked one. And even now i catch my self wondering if its grouped before i swipe to delete.

Yep I know exactly what you mean. I posted about this as well. Are you using dark mode?

Can’t we just tap on the grouping to expand it? Forgive me if I’m wrong.

Yes we can but that does not have to do anything with the issue mentioned. If you tap a notification that is not grouped then you enter the app since there is nothing to expand. The problem is distinguishing between single and grouped. Sometimes you just want to interact with the notifications and not have an app opened.
