iOS 15 maps app instantly crashes when typing certain letters

I’m using iOS 15 final on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. When I type the letter C into the search field of the Apple Maps app it instantly crashes. This also happens with a number of other letters. Anyone else experiencing this?
 
Doesn't happen for me (same phone and iOS). I tried every letter of the alphabet and none of them crash the app. Have you tried turning your phone off and back on again? Does this happen if you turn off wi-fi and use your cell network instead?

I have tried restarting and also using my cell network instead of WiFi

Have you tried using voice dictation (tap the microphone at the right side of the search field) instead of typing? Does it crash when you say a word that starts with "c"?

No it doesn’t crash if I use dictation and I say a word that starts with C

Man, I don't know what to tell you then. You could always go the nuclear route and reset your iPhone. Start by resetting just the settings, then you could do a full erase (content and settings), but of course back up your iPhone first. If you go that route, I'd try setting up iOS without entering your Apple ID or restoring from the backup - just use the phone "bare bones" and see if Maps still behaves the same way.

But you may want to wait for more replies in case someone else has a less time consuming idea to try.

I’m still within my return period for my iPhone. Do you think this is a hardware issue? It doesn’t look like it

I have the same issue. Not sure if you found a resolution
 
Crashes for me on my 12 Pro on 15.0.2. I can get it to crash by typing “A”, “C”, “M”, “O”, or “S”. Rebooting doesn’t solve the issue.
