Hi everyone,

So ever since updating to iOS 15 on my old XS and getting the 13 Pro, both phones are exhibiting annoying touch issues where things I tap on register with darkening icons/buttons, but don’t actually do anything. Like the devices accept the touch but don’t register it. It’s super annoying and I notice it randomly happens all over the OS. My devices are on 15.1 but just wanted to know if anyone else is still experiencing this on 15.1 as well. Will be submitting a bug report on this maybe others here can too so Apple can fix this thing.

You are not alone. This has been a plague that started with 15.0 that has still not been solved. It seems to be isolated in a way that it is not always occurring but happens to a number of users. Hopefully 15.2 will finally kill this bug.

Did you try iOS 15.2 to check if is fixed?

Touch registration can be a bit flaky requiring a repeated touch. Ever since 15.1 I have had this issue.

Sometimes it will register a touch that when I have not quite pressed the display but acts like my finger has touched the screen.

Did someone who actually noticed those touchscreen issues, had an iPhone in his hand that wasn’t affected ?
From what I’ve seen every iPhone with iOS 15.1/15.2 is affected, at least every iPhone 13
But most people just don’t realize it

I’m on a 12 pro max, iOS 15.2 and this issue is very annoying.

I don’t know if this is not getting the proper visibility or if it is only affecting a small group of users, but my impression is that this is not being addressed by Apple.

That’s a bit presumptuous of you. I just bought my 13 Pro less than a week ago and I don’t see any touch issues. Guess I’m part of the “most people”.

Maybe, but since there is not a single report about someone who got rid of that issue by resetting the software or a new phone, I’ll stick to it.
Tried iPhones in the store, tried the 15.3 Beta and did a clean iOS 15.2 install with no backup.
It’s still happening. Maybe not as much as in the beginning but it’s still happening.

I had two Iphone 13 pro Max (don't ask). Both exhibited this issue intermittently. My second behaved really well after a restart until I told my wife, "hey, this working great now", then started happening again.

Another symptom I see is I will tap an icon on a screen, and instead of opening the app, it will flip to the home scrren.

Pretty annoying. Especially for a $1k+ phone. I just switched from years of Samsung Android with no such issues, so a little disappointed there. Other than this, I am happy with the phone so far, the display is phenomenal (meh on notch, but get the face-id in return), as well as the battery,
