Hi Guys,

Ever since iOS 16.2 was released I am seeing crazy amounts of battery drain while connected to CarPlay. I have AOD off and not even navigation, just listening to music through Youtube Music app. I did a test this morning, charged my iPhone 14 Pro Max to 100%, connected to my car (BMW M2) and drove around for 30 mins, I saw a ridiculous drain of around 20% while just listening to music, I usually would see around maybe 3-5% in previous versions. Odd thing is that when I have my iPhone on low power mode then it seems to be at least somewhat better but 16.2 as definitely done something weird.

Odd, YouTube music no issues while using with low power mode, but massive drain when not on. Also while I'm doing workouts and listening to music I don't have massive drains either but maybe CarPlay API issue?
Might you have an Apple Music account? Or are you an Amazon prime member? If so why not try one of those services and see if you get the same results. PS- I always charge my phone in the car. Even if I was using wireless CarPlay. If you think that the music drags down the battery, try talking on the phone.

Unfortunately I don't have any other subscription but I know the issue wasn't present in other versions of iOS. I might just resetting my iPhone and see how it goes but either its iOS or Youtube Music.
