iOS 17.0.1 on iPhone 14 Pro Max Call Failed

I can't make a phone call after updating to iOS 17.0.1.
Is there a way to fix this.
I MUST be able to receive and make phone calls on my PHONE.

This is nuts. Could be a matter of life and death.
No sooner to I hit the call button that this happens.
It's immediate.
I also tried to call through Siri and it does the same thing.

This is absolutely terrible!!!!

gonna ask the obvious, did you reboot?

I’d also suggest turning wifi calling off then trying again. If it works, turn wifi calling back on, then try again.

It's the day after and I have done four reboots.
It's now working solidly.
I rebooted twice last night and nothing, then this morning and now things are normal.
Thanks for the suggestions.
No idea what happened, first time for me.
