When try via Software update shows "iOS 17 Developer Beta". download and at end hit Install. Says verifying update and device restarts... But just after a few minutes goes back into iOS 16.4

I have tried numerous times. So then I tried via the ipsw file connect to computer and just get a error message

Hmm thats odd. I would wait for beta 2 or 3 when things get a little more stable
finally got installed on my iPhone and iPad.....

Just now can't get installed on my Watch. just keeps saying "Checking for Updates"

also wonder if the beta is available yet for HomePod and AirPods..

What did you do to get it installed? I’m having the same problem…reboots to install and then comes back still being on 16.5.

Using a Managed (Business) Apple ID and I read iOS 17 release notes that say if using a managed Apple ID it has this issue installling beta.. to resolve sign out of managed Apple ID, update then can sign back in..

So I signed out of my managed id and was able to update just fine.

Thanks, my issue must be different since I don’t have a business ID, but it gets me on the right track to figuring this out.

You need the MobilesDevice.pkg from the resources folder in Xcode 15. (two finger option, or right click, show package contents.

Install that and Finder can talk to your phone to install iOS 17.

Despite not having a business account, I logged out of my Apple ID and tried to install iOS 17 beta, and it worked! Thanks for the suggestion!

This worked for me, but after installing with iTunes it’s still a bigger unusable mess for me, back to iOS 16 once again! 🫨🏄‍♀️

Adding to the commentary here.

- iPhone 14 Pro Max
- iOS 16.6 DP installed

Attempting to "upgrade" to the iOS 17.0 DP3, it downloads, prepares, then I click install now. It reboots to the progress bar and apple logo, and after about 5 minutes and halfway across the progress bar, the phone restarts, and nothing has changed. No update installed, just booted back to 16.6 as if nothing happened.

I have tried disabling the DP beta toggle to OFF, then rebooted, and toggled back on. I have also tried manually downloading the IPSW file from the Developer Resources on Apple's site, and when I install that, it tells me that I need to update my software when I manually apply the IPSW. So I press forward and it then says Installation Failed.

I'm out of options that I can think of, so hopefully one of you have run into this and overcome it somehow. Please share! :)
