iPhone 15 Pro, Germany, Telekom, physical SIM

Just a heads up from me, updating to the beta broke my SIM, it doesn't work anymore. Downgrading to 18.0.1 DID NOT resolve the issue.
I don't have a second SIM to try or a second phone at the moment.
I found my SE '16 on iOS 15 that previously worked with the SIM, doesn't anymore.
After doing 2 restores, one on .2 and then one to .0.1, it’s gotten more apparent how annoying this ordeal is.
I can’t even download music because the phone says it’s not associated with my Apple ID, it can be transferred in 36 days. Waiting for the rest of the bugs to come out.
It also wanted me type in the passcode, saying I recently changed my passcode. But I only restored it from a backup and actually used this passcode for some 5 years now so, uh, wth.
Worst beta for me since, ever. Never had a core function break, or my SIM rendered useless even in a different iPhone.

Interesting, so if the SIM is not working in the other phone, that means the iPhone wrote something to the SIM which caused it to fail. So interesting,

Apparently. I’ll try my partners SIM card later in hopes of not breaking that one, too. I’m on 18.0.1 now so fingers crossed.

I think Apple might have blurred the lines too much by making developer betas available to all. I like jumping the line as much as the next person, but developer betas are meant for a development environment and not intended to be run on your primary device. That said, sorry about the SIM issues and I hope you file some feedback so if this is a bigger issue Apple can address it before a public beta.

Yeah you’re right. But then again, it’s everyone’s own fault. There is a differentiation in all from marketing to choosing what to load specifically in the system settings.
As you said, people should file feedback reports, and making it available to everyone gives Apple more reports to gather information from before release. I installed the developer beta despite not being a developer, I just got to know how to do it to have even earlier access to what’s next to come, or what’s next to break. Usually it’s software, this is a freak thing but frustrating and weird none the less.
There is a reason developer betas aren’t supposed to be used on daily drivers, this is a good point why.
It’s still just so wildly random in my eyes.
Also, my experience with the Feedback program has been rather negatively, telling me always there are no similar reports to mine, even when reporting a publicly discussed issue. And even when the bugs are resolved, they aren’t marked as such.
I’ve read many many reports at one point some years ago and then less and less because for me feedback wise, nothing changed. It’s an unpleasant experience I just don’t see taking part in this way unfortunately.
I haven’t filed a report yet.

Trying a different SIM worked, my card was however not recognised by the other phone as well. It was a OnePlus 9 Pro, I think uh, some android on its respective latest software for what that’s worth.
It’s to the Telekom store tomorrow. yay
